Happy Birthday Danica!

The end of September saw Danica turn four years old!  I can hardly believe how grown up she is already.  It feels like only yesterday that we were bringing her home from the hospital.  This year she asked to go bowling so we took her and a few friends to one of the local bowling alleys and afterwards had our families over for dinner.

School and Something Funny

This September saw Emily begin grade one and Danica start pre-school.  My how time flies!

I was doing some cleaning and wondered why it was so quiet - I came back into the living room and this is what I found...

More Summer Fun

I still can't believe that we are already in September.  Summer went by way too fast this year for my liking but we did manage to jam pack in a lot of fun in a few short months!  Here are a few more things we've been up to as our summer holidays near their end:

We spent a day with my aunt and uncle at their cabin at Granite Lake.  I spent a fair bit of time there as a kid and going back always brings back a lot of childhood memories.  I was telling my uncle as we were taking the kids on tube rides with his boat that the smell of boat gas slams me right back into my summer childhood memories!

Hanging out on the beach.
 Pontoon boat ride!

Peyton fell asleep on the pontoon boat - it was pretty relaxing!

 Snack time at the cabin.
 The view from the water.

 Tube rides!!
The whole family minus Peyton who was hanging out with Auntie Cathy at the cabin.
I still can't believe that Grandma was convinced by her brother to get on the tube...

We also took a day and went to Thunder Mountain water slide park.  We had never been there but I scored a great deal online so we headed off for the hour long drive.  It was so worth the trek out to Grand Beach!  What a blast we had!  Greg and I took turns sitting with Peyton while the other took the older two ladies on the slides.  It is so much fun now that they are older and can do these things by themselves (plus it lets us be big kids for a while too)!

There is one ride at Thunder Mountain called the Bullet.  You can go up to 75 km per hour on this thing.  I chickened out on this one but Emily, Danica and Greg all took the plunge.

Now we begin to prepare for the start of school next week - eeep!  We have gotten our back to school haircuts (myself included) and have purchased all of our necessary supplies and new clothes.  I have to spend this weekend cleaning out closets and boxing up clothes that no longer fit and putting away the new ones.  I hope everyone enjoys the last long weekend before new routines begin!

We have ringette camp starting next week, swimming lessons, skating lessons, ringette games and a trip out to Ontario for myself and Peyton to visit some very dear friends!  Danica also turns four in a few weeks - how did she get so big so fast??  So much to look forward to coming up!
